Your Stop Loss Is a Promise

Your stop was set by the calm version of you — no position, no hope, no pain. The only version qualified to set it. Move it when price gets close, and you let the worst version of you overrule the best one. Every time that works out, even once, the habit gets stronger.
Here's the gap nobody counts: ask a trader how often he moves stops and he says "rarely." The real number is several times that. Moved stops that survive get remembered as "patience." Only the blow-ups make it into memory.
A breakdown of one costly habit, with the structural fix.
